Spider Solitaire is one of the most loved patience card games ever made, and this version puts it in a clean, phone-friendly layout you can play in seconds. Arrange ten columns of cards into ordered runs from King down to Ace, clear them off the table, and choose how tough you want the deal to be. It is relaxing, deeply strategic, and free to play in your browser.

What is Spider Solitaire?

Spider Solitaire is a single-player card game played with two decks. The cards are dealt into ten columns, with only the top card of each column face up. The rest of the cards wait in a stock pile. Your aim is to sort the whole table into complete sequences, King through Ace, in a single suit. Each time you finish one, it is lifted off the table. Clear all eight sequences and you win.

This version comes from developer Albayoo, and it has been built with mobile play in mind, with a tidy design and smooth card handling. According to the developer, you can choose between three levels of difficulty: 1 suit for beginners, 2 suits for a stiffer test, and 4 suits for the ultimate challenge. An undo button is always there to rescue you from a move you regret.

The name is said to come from the spider's eight legs, matching the eight runs you need to finish. Whatever the origin, the game's appeal is easy to see. Each deal is a puzzle where careful planning pays off, yet the pace is calm and there is never any rush.

How to Play Spider Solitaire

  1. Pick a difficulty. Choose 1, 2, or 4 suits. One suit is the best place to start.
  2. Move cards down in order. Place any card on a card one rank higher, such as a 7 on an 8.
  3. Move runs as a group. A run of cards in descending order and the same suit can be moved together.
  4. Uncover hidden cards. Moving the face-up cards away turns over the face-down card beneath.
  5. Fill empty columns. Any card or valid run can go into an empty column.
  6. Deal when you are stuck. Tap the stock to put one new card on every column.
  7. Complete King to Ace runs. A full same-suit sequence leaves the table. Clear all of them to win.

Tips & Strategies

Spider Solitaire rewards patience more than speed. These ideas will help you win more often, especially on 2 and 4 suits.

  1. Turn over hidden cards first. Face-down cards are your biggest obstacle. Moves that reveal a new card are almost always worth more than moves that do not.
  2. Empty a column early. An empty column is the most powerful tool in the game. It lets you park cards, rearrange runs, and dig out buried Kings.
  3. Build in the same suit when you can. A mixed-suit run can still sit in place, but only same-suit runs can move as a group. Given a choice, put a card on a matching suit.
  4. Be careful with Kings. A King can only move into an empty column. Do not fill an empty column with a King unless it truly helps.
  5. Tidy up before you deal. Each deal drops a card on top of every column, which can break up your runs. Make every useful move first.
  6. Use undo to explore. Not sure which move is best? Try one, see what it reveals, and undo if it leads nowhere.
  7. Start with 1 suit. It teaches the flow of the game without the frustration. Move up when you start winning most deals.

Spider Solitaire FAQ

How do you win Spider Solitaire?

Build complete runs of one suit from King down to Ace. Each finished run leaves the table, and you win once every card has been cleared.

What is the difference between 1, 2 and 4 suits?

With 1 suit, every card is a spade, so any lower card can follow a higher one and runs are easy to finish. With 2 or 4 suits, only same-suit runs can be moved as a group, which makes the game much harder.

Can I undo a move?

Yes. According to the developer, an undo button lets you take back moves when a plan does not work out.

When should I deal new cards from the stock?

Only after you have made every useful move on the table. A deal drops a new card on every column, so it is best to have your runs as tidy as possible first.

Can I play Spider Solitaire on a phone?

Yes. This version is designed in a tall portrait layout for mobile screens, and it also plays well with a mouse on a computer.

Who made this Spider Solitaire game?

This version of Spider Solitaire is developed by Albayoo and distributed through GameDistribution.
